Transportation

Location
North Mecklenburg is situated in the Southern
Piedmont North Carolina, and lies only 18 miles from the bustling
metropolis of Charlotte. Thanks to its central location, North
Mecklenburg is only a few hours' drive from the beautiful Blue
Ridge Mountains and the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.
Population
North Mecklenburg is a growing area of
approximately 22, 220 residents; Huntersville is the largest of
the area's three towns.
Climate
Boasting an agreeable climate, North Mecklenburg's
temperature averages 60 degrees F. January temperatures average
an invigoration 39 degrees F, while July sees the mercury hover
around 79 degrees F. The area receives approximately 43 inches
of rainfall annually.
A Distinctive Past and a Progressive Future

Mecklenburg's roots are planted deep in the heart of the Piedmont
region of the state, where Catawba Indians once walked and European
settlers came in the early 1700Â’s.The
area experienced a substantial boom when Davidson College was established
in 1837, but was still primarily real until 1964. At that time,
Duke Power Company built Cowan's Ford Dam, from which 32,500 acre
Lake Norman evolved covering 520 miles of shoreline. Since then,
North Mecklenburg has grown to be a bustling region with energy
towards the future. The plan for controlled growth in North Mecklenburg
