Huntersville

Statesville

About 12 miles north of Charlotte in the Lake Norman area, the Town of Huntersville, North Carolina is a growing community of approximately 30,000. Incorporated in 1873, Huntersville is believed to have been named for Robert Boston Hunter, a large land owner and cotton farmer. Family, farming and church were the foundations of life in the early years of Huntersville. The Virgin Manufacturing Company, a cotton mill, helped development of the town. Bricks made in a local brick yard can still be found in many of the older buildings downtown and in the older residential sections.

Today, Huntersville residents are mixed about the explosive growth that the town and the Lake Norman area are experiencing. Many people believe that Huntersville and Lake Norman are ready for such progress. Older generations reminisce about "the good old days" when traffic was sparse and farmland not developed.

Many people relocating to Huntersville are drawn by the natual beauty of the area, the easy commute to Charlotte and the proximity to Lake Norman. Housing in the area ranges from
multi-millon-dollar lakefront or golf course real estate properties to median priced family homes. Most everyone can find the home of their dreams here!
